Even on a Narrow-Body Plane: Australian Airline Introduces Business Suites with a Full Bed

Australian airline Qantas has unveiled the design of its new business class suites for Airbus A321XLR aircraft, designed to upgrade the travel experience on long-haul flights on a narrow-body aircraft.

Each suite will feature a bed that opens to a full-reclining position, direct aisle access and a sliding door for privacy during the flight. The design is designed to allow passengers greater flexibility and comfort throughout the flight.

The suites are expected to be included on Qantas' 16 new A321XLR aircraft, with the first aircraft expected to enter service from 2028.

At the same time, Qantas announced that the airline's future Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will also receive a new, updated business-class design. According to the airline, the new suites will offer greater comfort and privacy on long-haul flights.

The move is part of the largest fleet renewal program in Qantas' history, in which the company is equipping itself with new aircraft and updating the passenger experience across classes.
