TAROM. Photo: Cristi Croitoru / Shutterstock Romania's national carrier, TAROM, will take part in the Bucharest International Air Show (BIAS) 2026 on August 28 and 29, combining an aerial demonstration with a program focused on aviation, technology, culture and Romanian gastronomy.
For the 16th edition of BIAS, TAROM will be present in Hangar 105 under the concept “Step into Romania. TAROM, the Romanian territory from BIAS.” The highlight of its participation will come on Saturday, August 29, when a TAROM Boeing 737 will perform a formation flyover with the Romanian Falcons.
Three experienced TAROM pilots will operate the demonstration and meet visitors for an interview and autograph session at the TAROM stand between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
TAROM's BIAS program will also mark an important anniversary in Romanian aviation and space history, as 2026 marks 45 years since Dumitru Prunariu became the first Romanian to fly into space. On Friday, August 28, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Prunariu will meet visitors at the TAROM stand for a discussion and autograph session.
The event will feature a special series of “Father-Son” collectible postcards connecting Prunariu with his son, Cătălin Prunariu, TAROM's flight director.
Cătălin Prunariu leads the team responsible for bringing TAROM's newest aircraft, the Boeing 737 MAX, to Romania. He will pre-sign the special postcards before the flight, after which Dumitru Prunariu will sign them during his public appearance.
TAROM's presence at BIAS will extend beyond the aircraft demonstration.
Sales and flight staff will be available throughout the two-day event to speak with visitors. The airline will also offer special promotions and organize a competition featuring 16 TAROM travel kits, reflecting the 16th edition of BIAS.
The Aviation and Innovation Zone will feature eye-tracking activities developed with Irisyo Labs. Visitors will be able to try “Tower Control,” an air traffic control game with 60-second rounds and daily leaderboards, as well as a Flight Buddy demonstration using data from a real cockpit inspection.
The Ministry of Culture will also be present with the exhibition “Brâncuși and the Muses of Dance,” part of activities connected to Brâncuși Year 2026. Visitors will additionally be able to take part in an interactive game focused on the artist's life and sculpture.

The airline will also partner with Romanian Post, giving away postcards featuring domestic destinations served by TAROM, which can be sent free of charge to recipients in Romania or abroad.
The TAROM stand in Hangar 105 will be open on Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
