Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has confirmed a cybersecurity incident in which an unauthorized third party obtained some customer data linked to car parking, lounges, Fast Track bookings and airport Wi-Fi at Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports.

The accessed information includes email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registrations and postcodes. MAG said no bank or payment details were involved.

The company immediately restricted access to affected systems, brought in cybersecurity specialists and notified the relevant authorities. Passenger safety, aviation security and airport operations have not been affected, and customers should continue to travel as normal.

Upcoming bookings remain valid and do not need to be changed. MAG has temporarily suspended its online Manage My Booking service as a precaution.

"There is no action required unless you would like to make a change to a booking due within the next 72 hours," said the official statement.

Affected customers have been contacted directly and are advised to remain alert for suspicious emails, texts or calls. MAG said it will never unexpectedly request payment card details, banking information or passwords.
