Stricter Flight Regulations: Thai Airways Bans Portable Battery Use Following Fire Incidents – Complete Prohibition in Effect from May 15, 2025

Following incidents of fires on international flights, which are suspected to have been caused by the use of portable batteries (Power Banks), Thai Airways International has announced new restrictions for the safety of passengers and crew.

As of today, March 15, 2025, there is a complete ban on the use of portable batteries during the flight.

This guidance is intended to ensure the highest level of safety for all passengers and crew members. We request the cooperation of all travelers and thank you for your understanding.

Thai Airways apologizes for any inconvenience that may be caused by the new restriction, but emphasizes that passenger safety is the top priority.
