Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled the entertainment program that will be offered aboard Norwegian Aura , the company's newest ship, which is expected to begin operating in May 2027.

At the center of the program is a new production dedicated to Whitney Houston, which will be performed under the name "Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston

The show was developed in collaboration with the estate of Whitney E. Houston and Primary Wave Music, and is expected to combine live performances of the singer's songs with a live band, visuals and theatrical elements.

45 Minutes of Whitney Houston

"Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston" will be performed at the Aura Theatre & Club, a three-story entertainment complex. The 45-minute show will feature Houston's songs, including "I Will Always Love You," "I Want to Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" and "It's Not Right, But It's Okay."

The production seeks to present Houston's music in a new interpretation, combining live singing, a band, performing arts, and visual elements.

According to the company, the show was created especially for Norwegian Aura and continues the line of music productions based on well-known artists, after shows dedicated to Prince and Elton John on other ships in the fleet.

“Every new ship is an opportunity for Norwegian Cruise Line to push the boundaries and redefine what’s possible in entertainment at sea. With ‘Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston,’ we continue the impressive momentum we’ve built with Las Vegas-inspired productions celebrating some of the most iconic artists in music,” said Brian White , vice president of entertainment productions, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.

“Whitney loved to cruise. Her fans and supporters will be able to enjoy a nostalgic experience, experiencing the extraordinary artistry and live music of Whitney Houston performed by world-class musicians, while sailing the high seas,” added Pat Houston , estate administrator of The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and president of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation.

One of them is "ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed," a show that combines illusions, acrobatics, original music, and visual effects. This production will also be presented in the Aura Theatre & Club and will last approximately 45 minutes.

In the field of music, the company will launch "The Vinyl Republic", a live performance collective that will operate not only in the theater but also in other venues on the ship.

The collective will present, among other things, "The Vinyl Republic's Journey Through Rock," dedicated to the rock era and the band Journey, as well as "The Vinyl Republic's Kickin' It Country," a country show featuring interactive country music and dance.

Also returning to the ship will be “LunaTique: Pop Circus,” an adult-oriented production that combines cabaret, circus arts and music. The show debuted aboard Norwegian Luna.

The evening program will also include "Aura FIRST NIGHT," a welcome show showcasing the ship's entertainment offerings, and "Latin LIVE!", a poolside Latin music event with musicians, singers and dancers.
