The airport recently discovered the giant rock on O’Hare’s property and has now turned to the public for help choosing an official name.
O’Hare announced the naming effort on social media, joking that the boulder has already found a new home but is still missing one important detail: a name.

The submission form asks participants to provide their first and last name, email address, date of birth and proposed name for the rock. Entrants must also confirm that they have read and accepted the official terms and conditions.
The airport has not yet revealed how the winning name will be selected or when the boulder will receive its official name.
For an airport normally associated with runways, aircraft and busy passenger terminals, the unexpected discovery gives O’Hare a rather different attraction to talk about.
The rock’s discovery also adds a small piece of local character to one of the world’s busiest aviation facilities. Rather than simply leaving the boulder unnamed, O’Hare is inviting the public to become part of the process.
Suggestions can be submitted through September 30, giving participants a limited window to come up with a name worthy of O’Hare’s newest, and perhaps most unusual, resident.
In a similar event last December, Heathrow Airport invited the public to suggest names for more than 20 cleaning robots that patrol the terminal corridors every day.
