A new aviation partnership between the national airlines of the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia. Ethiopian Airlines will launch a route from ADD airport in Addis Ababa to AUH airport in Abu Dhabi starting from 15.7.25.
Etihad will add daily flights to Addis Ababa starting from October 1.
The signing also includes a code share agreement that will provide easier access for passengers to a variety of destinations.
According to the joint announcement released this evening (19.3.25), the collaboration will allow both companies to develop and expand routes between Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, while improving transit options for passengers between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. As part of the agreement, both companies will also discuss additional cooperation opportunities, such as joint loyalty programs, training, and cargo services.
Ethiopian Airlines will operate wide-body aircraft on the new route, including Boeing 777 and Airbus A350-1000, the newest model in service with the airline.
