The American airline United Airlines plans to significantly expand its operations in Israel: starting in early November 2026, the company plans to operate three flights a day, four times a week, on the Tel Aviv-Newark route.

The additional flight from Tel Aviv will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and is expected to join the company's two daily flights on the route, significantly increasing the offer of direct flights between Tel Aviv and the New York area. For passengers, this means additional flight options during the day, both departing from Israel and returning from the US.

United originally planned to add a third flight on the Tel Aviv-Newark route starting at the end of March 2026, with a frequency of four flights per week. The company now plans to operate the third flight daily, starting November 4.

And alongside the expansion in New York, Washington and Chicago are also returning to the fold: United plans to restore operations on direct routes from Tel Aviv to Washington and Chicago at the end of October and will operate 3 flights a week to Washington and 4 flights a week to Chicago, thus re-expanding its network of direct destinations from Israel to the United States to up to 25 weekly flights.

Newark serves as a central gateway to the New York area and United's network of destinations in the United States, so increasing frequency is expected to give passengers more options for continuing flights within the United States.

The company also plans to return the important line from Tel Aviv to San Francisco, starting in March 2027.

The move marks a significant expansion of United's operations in Israel, with increased frequency to Newark, alongside the return of additional key destinations to the direct flight network to the US.
