Operations have now resumed at Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport after a severe storm caused major disruption, including reduced visibility and a communications failure.
Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority said today, October 6, that the airport had declared a ground stop for all flights arriving at or departing from El Dorado because of the weather conditions and loss of communications.
The ground stop was later lifted after the storm passed and communications were restored. Authorities said they are now reorganizing air traffic as they work to gradually recover from the delays.
Passengers have been advised to check their flight status directly with their airline, as the disruption may continue to affect schedules while operations return to normal.
El Dorado International Airport is Colombia’s main international airport and one of the busiest aviation hubs in Latin America. Located in Bogotá, it handles both domestic and international flights and serves as a major connection point for travel across Colombia and the wider region.
