While most western airlines have halted flights to Russia due to international sanctions imposed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Etihad Airways has been expanding its flights to the Russian capital, Moscow.
The award-winning Abu Dhabi airline announced the addition of a third daily flight from Abu Dhabi International Airport Zayed to Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow.
The new flight is scheduled to launch on October 1, and it will increase the total number of weekly flights to 21, providing passengers with greater flexibility in planning their travels.
In addition to flights to Moscow, Etihad will also launch a flight route to Sochi, the luxurious resort on the Black Sea.
Starting May 29, passengers will be able to fly directly from Zayed International Airport to this vacation destination.
These new "Russian" routes are part of the extensive network growth of Etihad Airways by 2025, which will include new destinations across Asia, North America, and North Africa. This significant expansion will further strengthen the airline's global presence.
