Ezeiza International Airport, which serves Buenos Aires, is expected to continue to handle most international flights as scheduled during upgrade work on the main runway.

The work is scheduled to take place between October 25 and November 11, 2026, and will last 17 days.

During this period, the main runway will be operated at a reduced length for operational safety reasons. However, terminal services, commercial shops and passenger services will continue to operate fully.

According to a statement from airport operator Aeropuertos Argentina, narrow-body aircraft, used mainly for domestic flights in Argentina and flights to destinations in South and Central America, can continue operating on their normal direct routes. Long-haul flights will also continue to land at Aziza, but some may adjust takeoff segments and make intermediate stops for refueling or use connecting flights, depending on operational needs.

The renovation is intended to extend the runway's useful life by 20 to 25 years, improve its resistance to abrasion, and increase safety margins. According to the company, the work will also improve the airport's ability to accommodate larger aircraft and raise its technological classification to operate under instrument conditions.

The project was planned in advance within the International Air Transport Association (IATA) coordination schedule and in coordination with aviation authorities, to minimize disruption to Argentina's air connectivity.

The works are part of a wider modernization program, which also includes a new aircraft parking area called Golf, which can accommodate seven aircraft, the rehabilitation of taxiways and the construction of new maintenance complexes.

Passengers are advised to check flight details with the relevant airline before departing, especially regarding long-haul flights and possible changes in route or intermediate stops.
