Kenya Airways said the passenger became unresponsive around 20 minutes before the aircraft was due to land in Lagos. The crew administered first aid in line with their training and followed the airline’s emergency procedures.
The flight landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 21:41 local Nigerian time, where medical personnel were waiting for the aircraft.
After examining the passenger, the medical personnel confirmed that the passenger had died, Kenya Airways said.
The airline did not provide further details about the passenger or the medical emergency.
Kenya Airways said it is providing support in coordination with the deceased passenger’s family, local authorities and aviation regulators.
The airline expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and said it respects the privacy and dignity of everyone involved.
