Icelandair and ITA Airways Italy have signed a code-sharing agreement, allowing customers to travel seamlessly across the networks of both airlines and open new and exciting travel possibilities.
For ITA Airways, this is the 37th code-sharing agreement, an incredible figure considering the company only started operating about three years ago.
Flights are already available for purchase for flights beginning on January 20, 2025.
The initial agreement between the companies will open connections through Rome between Iceland and many ITA destinations, including Bologna, Florence, Venice, and Naples. Thus, customers of both airlines can travel on a single ticket and check in luggage just once to the final destination.
Icelandair and ITA Airways will further expand the partnership next year and add shared codes on their mutual European destinations. Icelandair has daily flights to Milan and Rome during the summer, and to further complement the new partnership, Icelandair has announced an increase in winter frequency to Rome to 4 flights a week.
