This marks the Cypriot group's first entry into the hotel market in the Greek capital, as part of a plan to expand its operations in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The group currently owns two additional properties in Greece. One is in Porto Heli in the Peloponnese, and one is on the island of Paros. With the new acquisition, MHV expands its portfolio of hotels and hospitality sites in Greece and Cyprus, alongside its real estate activities.
Moxy Athens City Hotel, operating under Marriott International's Moxy brand, opened in 2022 and offers a hospitality experience that combines youthful design, music, art, and technology.
In keeping with the brand's concept, instead of the traditional reception desk, there is a bar that also serves as a welcoming space for guests, with complimentary cocktails and an informal atmosphere.

The suite, located on the ninth floor, is used for both hospitality and private events, and includes an indoor area of 79 square meters and an outdoor urban garden of 158 square meters. The complex offers views of the Acropolis and the Hill of the Wolves.
As part of the deal, MHV will also take over the management of the hotel, in line with its operating model for its other properties.
The acquisition strengthens the group's presence in the Greek hospitality market and adds a centrally located urban property to its portfolio that appeals to tourists seeking to combine access to Athens' attractions with a youthful, contemporary hospitality experience.
