A private jet skidded off a runway and struck a perimeter fence at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 18, temporarily disrupting airport operations and delaying flights.

According to an announcement from the airport, no injuries were reported.

The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. local time as the general aviation aircraft was departing from runway 1L, according to the statement issued by the airport.

Following the incident, airport officials closed runways 1L and 1R for safety inspections. Travelers were warned to expect delays and advised to check directly with their airlines for updates.

FAA Issues Temporary Ground Stop

The Federal Aviation Administration temporarily halted flights destined for Harry Reid International Airport while the incident affected operations.

The temporary ground stop and runway closures limited airport operations while officials inspected the affected area.

The restrictions were later lifted, and the runways reopened on Sunday evening, according to the airport.
