The international Hilton hotels chain is marking a significant milestone with the opening of its 1,000th hotel in Asia-Pacific, earlier than the parent company expected in 2025.
The company recorded impressive growth from 761 hotels at the end of last year and presented a cumulative annual growth rate of about 25% over the past five years.
With 915 more hotels in various stages of development, Hilton aims to double its number of hotels in the region in the coming years, thanks to rising demand from the middle class seeking, as the chain describes, "unique experiences at all price levels."
It is noteworthy that a comprehensive global survey conducted for Hilton Worldwide with 13,000 travelers from 13 countries, and feedback from more than 4,100 Hilton team members and interviews with dozens of Hilton travel experts, states that 2025 will be a year for maximizing guest time and investment.
The survey recently published in PassportNews indicates guests are looking to combine their desire for relaxation with adventures and meaningful experiences to maximize their time and financial investment in the upcoming year.
Significant Regional Expansion
Alan Watts, President of Hilton Asia-Pacific, said: "Hilton's rapid growth in Asia-Pacific stems from increasing demand for our brands and unique experiences for all types of travelers. New openings in major cities, transport hubs, and popular resorts in Asia are opening up new opportunities for travelers in the region and provide momentum for continued growth."
New openings that led to Hilton's remarkable success in Asia include, among others, the hotels: Hilton Shanghai City Center, Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda, and Hilton Garden Inn Bangkok Riverside.
Plans for the Future
The hotel chain plans to expand its brands in Asia-Pacific with a focus on luxury hotels, mid-range hotels, and innovative brands like Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn. Hilton has also strengthened its cooperation with Small Luxury Hotels of the World to add unique properties to its wide hotel portfolio.
In China, Hilton recorded a high of 758 active hotels with over 400 Hampton by Hilton hotels and 100 Hilton Garden Inn hotels.
In India, the company signed a strategic agreement to develop 150 hotels under the brand Spark by Hilton, marking Hilton's entry into the region's premium market.
Distribution in Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia is a particularly promising area for Hilton, with notable achievements including the company's first entry into Laos with the DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane and significant expansion in Indonesia and Vietnam.
Looking Ahead
"Hilton intends to continue expanding with brands such as Canopy by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, and Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in response to increasing demand for authentic and local experiences among travelers in Asia-Pacific," the hotel chain notes regarding near-future plans.
Hilton's continued growth in Asia-Pacific highlights its commitment to offering diverse hospitality experiences and adapting to the diverse and evolving market of the region.
