Photo: Shutterstock The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has partnered with visa concierge provider OneVasco to connect visa application services with its Timatic travel requirements platform, allowing travelers to move from checking entry rules to applying for visas through a connected digital experience.
Under the agreement, OneVasco’s services will be integrated into IATA’s Timatic Solutions, which airlines use to check travel document and entry requirements. The visa service will be available to airlines as an additional option through Timatic Web and Timatic Widget.
Travelers will be able to access assistance with both electronic visas and traditional sticker visas. Services include eligibility checks, document verification, application assistance, secure payments and application status tracking. Timatic travel information will also be incorporated into OneVasco’s visa platform.
“Understanding what travel documents and visas are required for a journey is complicated. Joining forces with OneVasco will help passengers navigate travel requirements that can be time-consuming and onerous. Together, we will help travelers understand the requirements and how to fulfill them,” said Frederic Leger, IATA’s Senior Vice President, Products & Services.
The partnership comes as visa and immigration requirements continue to discourage some people from traveling. According to IATA’s 2025 Global Passenger Survey, 33% of respondents said the complexity of visa and immigration requirements had deterred them from taking a trip, an increase of three percentage points compared with 2024.
Passengers from Africa and the Middle East were the most discouraged by these requirements, according to the survey. Among travelers who said onerous visa or document rules had put them off a trip, 53% cited the complexity of the process as the main reason.
Mahesh Anchan, COO of OneVasco, said the integration would give travelers access to visa support through IATA’s partner network, combining Timatic’s travel requirement information with OneVasco’s application services.
Timatic provides real-time information on international travel document requirements and is used by airlines worldwide to verify compliance for more than 1.3 billion passengers annually.
