Southern Rail services are facing delays, cancellations and timetable changes today, October 23, after several incidents disrupted the network, including trees blocking railway lines at multiple locations.
Passengers have been warned to allow an additional 60 minutes for their journeys after multiple incidents disrupted services across the network this morning.
The operator reported trees blocking railway lines between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges, Lewes and Brighton, Uckfield and Crowborough, and Fareham and Southampton Central.
A separate fault affecting station lighting at Normans Bay is also causing disruption.
The incident between Uckfield and Crowborough has blocked all lines until further notice. As a result, services between London Bridge and Uckfield are starting and terminating at Crowborough, leaving passengers to find alternative transport for the remaining section of the route. Some trains will be replaced by buses between the two destinations.
Southern said services across its network could be delayed, canceled or revised as a result of the incidents. It advised passengers to check for updates before traveling and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

London Fire Brigade has warned residents in areas covered by a yellow wind warning to secure loose items on balconies and in gardens. It also urged people to take extra care outdoors, as strong gusts could send debris onto pavements and roads.
The Met Office says the storm could bring localized impacts, including delays to bus and train services, difficult driving conditions and temporary power cuts. Coastal areas may be particularly affected by large waves and sea spray, while high-sided vehicles could face delays on exposed roads and bridges.
The Met Office has issued an amber wind warning for parts of southwest England, where gusts could reach 80 mph in exposed locations. The warning highlights the risk of flying debris, damage to buildings, power outages and disruption to road, rail, air and ferry services.
A separate yellow warning covers heavy rain, with flooding possible in some areas. The Met Office advises travelers to check road conditions and public transport updates before setting out and to avoid exposed coastal areas during dangerous conditions.
