flydubai is nearing completion of a new $190 million aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul center at Dubai South. The company's management, led by CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith, recently toured the site, where work began in 2025.
According to the company's announcement, construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, after which system testing and preparation for operation will begin, scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
The new center will include heavy maintenance hangars, engineering workshops, spare parts warehouses and operational facilities. Upon its opening, approximately 400 professionals are expected to work there. The goal is to transfer key maintenance activities into the company, shorten aircraft maintenance times, improve fleet availability and strengthen the airline's operational independence.
The investment comes at a time when the company plans to expand its operations: flydubai operates a network of more than 125 destinations, holds orders for more than 300 aircraft, and is expected to receive their share this year, so that its fleet will reach 100 aircraft.
