Good News for Residents of the South: Red Wings Will Start Operating Flights to Ramon.
Ramon Airport continues to come back to life following a long period with the launch of flights by the Russian airline Red Wings from Moscow starting June 12.
According to the company's announcement to the Israel Airports Authority, it will initially operate only one flight and will then consider adding a second weekly flight.
It was also noted in the announcement that there is still a restriction from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs preventing Russian citizens from visiting Israel. Due to this, travel agents are not planning to develop large-scale sales to Eilat in the near future. "Unfortunately, under these conditions, we do not expect to fill the aircraft capacity without support from travel agents."
Initially, the airline will operate an SSJ-100 aircraft, which will make a technical stop in Sochi; as demand increases, the company will change the aircraft type to a larger model, the Tu-204/214.
