Boeing and aircraft lessor Icelease are expanding their partnership in the converted freighter market with a new agreement covering the purchase of one Boeing 767-300BCF and options for two additional aircraft.
The agreement was signed on October 22, 2026, during the Cargo Facts Symposium in Nashville. It marks Icelease's first order for the 767-300BCF, expanding its existing relationship with Boeing, which dates back more than 20 years.
Since 2021, Icelease has ordered 11 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF), all previously based on the 737-800BCF. The latest agreement adds the larger 767-300BCF to its portfolio, reflecting the company's plans to expand its presence in the cargo aircraft leasing market.
Under the agreement, Boeing Global Services will provide the engineering support and parts kits required for the aircraft modifications. The conversions will take place at ST Engineering's airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Singapore.
Work on the first aircraft is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with delivery of the converted freighter expected in the second quarter of the year.
Expanding Icelease's Cargo Aircraft Portfolio
The agreement also represents continued demand for the 767-300BCF, a converted widebody freighter designed to support cargo operators with an established aircraft platform and integrated lifecycle services.
Boeing's converted freighter program combines aircraft modification services with engineering and parts support, helping operators and lessors manage conversion planning and the long-term operation of their cargo fleets.
"Icelease is an important partner for our Boeing Converted Freighter program, and this agreement underlines our continued collaboration to meet global cargo demand," said Lindsey Douglas, vice president of Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance and Digital Services at Boeing.
"The 767-300BCF is a proven performer in the cargo industry, and we are confident it will continue to deliver value for many years to come," Douglas added.
Sigthor Einarsson, managing partner at Icelease, said the agreement to convert up to three Boeing 767 aircraft represents an important milestone for both companies.
He also highlighted the long-standing relationship between Icelease and Boeing, which has included new aircraft deliveries and cargo conversions over more than two decades.
The converted 767s will join the growing managed cargo aircraft portfolio of Dublin-based IAT Leasing, Icelease's sister company. Its existing fleet includes seven Boeing 737BCF aircraft, alongside other freighters leased to customers.
