After a long hiatus, Delta Airlines will resume tomorrow (Tuesday) its daily, direct flights between JFK Airport in New York and Ben Gurion Airport.
The first flight of Delta Airlines since the route was renewed is expected to land in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, April 2, at 09:20.
The flights will be operated on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, and will serve about 2,000 passengers per week on this route. The resumption of activities represents another strengthening of air ties between Israel and the U.S., as the airline joins the list of international carriers that have returned to operate on routes to Tel Aviv.
Additionally, Delta has increased its presence in Israel through a code-share agreement with EL-AL, a collaboration that allows Delta passengers to book direct EL-AL flights to Tel Aviv from a variety of major destinations in the U.S., including New York JFK, Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale.
Delta is one of the aviation giants returning to Israel this week, alongside the return of Ryanair to Terminal 1, Iberia Express, Air Baltic, and British Airways.
Meanwhile, the battle for New York is in full swing, as just two weeks ago United Airlines resumed its flights to Tel Aviv, and yesterday marked the addition of its daily flight to Israel.
