The cruise company Azamara Cruises announced its return to Alaska for the summer season of 2026 after a 7-year hiatus.

According to its announcement, the company will once again offer "cruises to one of the most pristine destinations in the world with tours and experiences bringing guests closer to the heart of Alaska's breathtaking natural beauty, unparalleled wildlife, and authentic rich culture."

It also stated that starting May 2026, the ship Azamara Pursuit will embark on a series of 10 to 13-day cruises to various remote destinations in Alaska (with extended port stays of 10+ hours), cultural encounters with indigenous communities, whale watching, glacier tours, and more.

Michael Paulus, Head of Itinerary Planning at Azamara Cruises: "We are excited to reintroduce Alaska as one of our key destinations for summer 2026. Our guests have long wanted to return to this extraordinary region, and we are thrilled to meet that demand by offering enhanced itineraries and land experiences that truly capture the essence of Alaska. From cruising Hubbard Glacier to providing extended time in smaller ports for an unforgettable, immersive journey and deeper connection with the destination."

Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises: "We have listened to our guests' feedback, and now we are delivering on what we promised. Our commitment to Destination Immersion means that we not only take our guests to Alaska but also immerse them in its rich culture and take them to the heart of the destination that larger ships cannot even access. With our extended stays and carefully curated land experiences, we are excited to deliver the Azamara experience in a destination that has captured travelers' hearts."

Azamara Cruises is considered a small company with a fleet of 4 intimate ships: Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest, Azamara Pursuit, and Azamara Onward.
