A power outage affecting Prague's districts 5 and 6 has disrupted traffic control systems and caused interruptions to tram services, prompting police to warn motorists to exercise extra caution.

The Czech Police reported the disruption in a public update, saying the electricity failure had caused traffic lights and other traffic control equipment to stop functioning at affected intersections.

Drivers have been urged to approach intersections carefully and follow instructions from police officers directing traffic.

Tram services have also been affected by the outage, although authorities have not yet provided details about the extent of the disruption or how long it is expected to last.

The incident adds to transport difficulties in the Czech capital, with both road traffic and public transportation affected.
