On Saturday, April 5, MSC Cruises launched the world's largest cruise terminal at the Port of Miami. The terminal was designed by Arquitectonica and built by Fincantieri Infrastructure. Covering nearly 46,000 square meters, the terminal can accommodate up to 36,000 passengers daily and will serve both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
The cruise terminal will also be where the new ship, MSC World America, will be launched on April 9 and will embark on its first sailing season in the Caribbean.
Cruise passengers at the terminal will enjoy a new and modern experience with boarding the ship through the new terminal, including the option to check in for their cruise online or via the MSC for Me app. Additionally, passengers will be able to park their personal vehicles in a new 6-level parking structure and will be able to quickly drop off their luggage after online check-in.
The terminal accelerates the identification and boarding process with 18 biometric facilities and 22 electronic gates to verify passenger identity before boarding the ship.
The new 4-level terminal also features a private lounge for the MSC yacht club, designed to provide yacht club cruisers with a comfortable and relaxed environment.
