The airline airBaltic is extending its suspension of flights to Israel.
airBaltic, which halted its flights to Israel due to the security situation at the end of September, and was supposed to resume them today, December 21, is extending the suspension of its flights on the Riga-Tel Aviv route.
The Baltic airline, which operated 4 weekly flights between the capital of Latvia and Tel Aviv, updates that it will not resume flights on the route until January 28, 2025.
As a reminder, airBaltic announced the launch of a new flight route between Vilnius (VNO) and Tel Aviv, expected to operate starting March 2025, with 2 weekly flights.
Remember, last week we published that the Latvian airline set another high record in November with a record number of 400,600 passengers, an increase of 23% compared to November last year.
Also, the occupancy of the planes reached a peak of 81.8%, an increase of 8.5 percentage points compared to the same period in 2023.
The first week of December 2024 also marked a significant milestone for airBaltic which celebrated eight particularly successful years of operating a fleet of 49 aircraft, all Airbus A220-300, and by 2030 the company will operate 100 aircraft, all Airbus A220-300.
