With 30 direct routes to Mexico – American Airlines breaks records and establishes its position as the leading American airline on the continent.
The world’s largest airline has announced a new destination in Mexico – Puerto Escondido, a popular beach town in the state of Oaxaca, which will join the airline’s route network starting December 3, 2025.
The new flights will operate twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays – on a direct route from Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW) to Puerto Escondido Airport (PXM), using Embraer 175 aircraft that also include a premium cabin.
"We are excited to add Puerto Escondido as our 30th destination in Mexico," said Juan Carlos Lizaraga, American Airlines Director in Mexico.
"This is a destination that combines breathtaking surfing beaches, a vibrant nightlife scene, and local charm – and now it will be more accessible than ever for travelers from the United States."
Alongside Puerto Escondido, the company has recently launched new routes to the cities of Tampico, Tijuana, Tulum, and Veracruz – as part of an unprecedented expansion of its operations in Mexico. American Airlines is currently considered the leading American airline in the country, both in the number of flights and the number of destinations.
