Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in the U.S. and Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the United Arab Emirates both ranked as the busiest airports in the world in different categories, according to a summary by ACI, Airports Council International.
ACI announced Atlanta as the busiest airport for all passengers, while Dubai leads in international passenger rankings in 2024.
According to the latest statistics: 108,067,766 passengers passed through Atlanta Airport, Dubai Airport follows in second with 92,331,506 passengers, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) ranks third with 87,817,864 passengers.
However, when analyzing international passenger traffic, it turns out that most passengers at Atlanta are domestic travelers within the U.S., while Dubai significantly leads in the international passenger category.

1. Dubai (DXB) - 92,331,506 passengers
2. London Heathrow (LHR) - 79,194,330 passengers
3. Incheon (ICN), Korea - 70,669,246 passengers
4. Singapore (SIN) 67,063,000 - passengers
5.Amsterdam (AMS) - 66,822,849 passengers
"Although this achievement is measured in numbers, it speaks to something much bigger. It reflects the extraordinary power of Dubai as a destination in itself, a city that people choose to visit for tourism, commerce, and business," stated Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.
