Ethiopian Airlines, the national airline of Ethiopia and the largest in Africa, has announced the launch of a new daily route to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, which will begin operations on June 15, 2025.
The new route from the African airline, which operates daily flights to Israel, will meet the growing demand for destinations in the Persian Gulf, connecting Abu Dhabi to Ethiopian Airlines' extensive network of over 130 destinations worldwide. Passengers will enjoy convenient access to a city rich in culture, innovation, and tourism, as part of a strategic move to deepen ties between Africa and the Middle East.
"Get ready to explore the wonders of the UAE’s capital" – this is stated in the company’s announcement ahead of the sales launch.
"Book your seat now and let your next adventure take flight!"
The route will operate daily, allowing easy connections through Addis Ababa for passengers from many countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe – as part of Ethiopian Airlines' strengthening position as a leading global player.

In addition to the announcement of the route to Abu Dhabi, Ethiopian Airlines recently announced the opening of another route to the city of Sharjah, which will start operating on June 1, 2025. The Sharjah route will be operated four times a week using the new and advanced Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, providing further solutions for travel, tourism, and business needs in the Emirates.
Sharjah is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and it is considered a very important principality – especially in terms of cultural and educational significance.
The recent moves mark Ethiopian Airlines' aggressive entry into the UAE market, with expanding coverage, a modern fleet of aircraft, and a focus on passenger comfort and experience.
