Last Wednesday, the Embassy of Israel in the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Israel in Dubai, hosted a festive diplomatic reception in Abu Dhabi to mark Israel’s 77th Independence Day.

Held at the luxurious Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, located in the prestigious Ras Al Akhdar district near the Presidential Palace and the Corniche waterfront, the event reflected the growing warmth in bilateral ties between Israel and the UAE since the signing of the Abraham Accords.

The reception was attended by a wide array of distinguished guests, including senior UAE government officials, foreign ambassadors, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, leading business figures, and representatives from the local and Jewish communities. Their presence was a heartfelt expression of friendship, partnership, and a shared vision for the future of the region.

Israeli Ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelly, welcomed the guests and said:
"I thank the leadership of the United Arab Emirates for their friendship and support. The relationship between our countries is evolving rapidly across a wide range of fields — security, economy, technology, and culture."

He further emphasized the importance of the Abraham Accords and declared:
"Three visionary and courageous leaders — UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and former U.S. President Donald Trump — acted decisively to change the face of the Middle East. I truly believe they deserve the Nobel Peace Prize."

The evening featured a special joint musical performance, blending Israeli and Emirati talents, including the renowned Piyut Ensemble from Israel.

The performance highlighted the power of culture to bridge communities, foster coexistence, and celebrate shared values.
