Intercontinental Power: American Airlines and Qantas Expand Partnership

Enhanced Connections Between Australia and the U.S

American Airlines and the Australian airline Qantas have announced the expansion of their collaboration for the upcoming winter season, with the addition of new flights between the U.S. and Australia.

From December 5, 2025, to the end of January 2026, American Airlines will operate three weekly direct flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and Brisbane (BNE). Tickets for these flights will be on sale starting May 12.

Additionally, Qantas will increase the frequency of its flights between Dallas (DFW) and Melbourne (MEL) to daily flights from December 3 to the end of January 2026. Starting January 2026, all Qantas flights between Dallas and Sydney (SYD) will be operated using Airbus A380 aircraft, which will allow for increased capacity and improved comfort for passengers.

American Airlines will operate the seasonal route between Dallas and Brisbane starting October 26, using its new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, featuring 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 premium economy seats.

The expanded cooperation between the two companies will offer passengers convenient access to about 70 destinations in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific, with seamless connections through four major hubs in the region - Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
