Despite numerous cancellations of international representatives at IMTM Tel Aviv, some others like Hungary, Cyprus, and Romania stood out with almost 100% presence.

Amid Romania's impressive tourist destinations, representatives from the Romanian airline TAROM, which has been flying to Israel for over 50 years, came to meet with Israeli tourism professionals. The decision to visit Israel aligns with Romania's and the airline's strong statement to continue flying to Israel, even when the EU advised against it, with just a few exceptions.

Romania's solidarity with Israel was also evident in the decision to celebrate Israel's Independence Day in the Romanian Parliament in May, festivities that also included raising the Israeli flag at Romania's official institutions.

We had a chance to speak to Camelia Hacisalim (Camelia Hacisalim), Sales Manager for EMEA of TAROM – Sales Manager EMEA.

First of all, thank you for visiting Israel during these challenging times and for Romanian airline, TAROM, continuing to fly during difficult times.

"Personally, I'm very happy to be in Israel. my daughter is Sabra. I gave birth to her in Nahariya Hospital. Therefore, Israel is a special country for me with personal connections, and I love the people here".

How can you explain the fact that while other airlines stopped flying, understandably due to conflicts, TAROM shows solidarity with Israel and continues to fly?

"Our security personnel and team constantly analyze the information received from the Civil Aviation Authority and have decided that it is currently safe to fly to Tel Aviv. Of course, safety is the top priority for commercial aviation, and we decided to proceed with flights".

We know you fly on the Tel Aviv-Bucharest route, with six weekly flights (alongside a codeshare agreement with EL-AL). But from Bucharest, you can also proceed to many destinations within and outside Romania.

"From Bucharest, we offer most major destinations in Europe and of course, domestic destinations in Romania, with short and convenient connections".

Can you name some local destinations?

"There are many amazing places to visit. Here at IMTM we presented the Truffle Festival that takes place in August near Suceava Airport".

"Additionally, one can visit Transylvania, offering many amazing and interesting places for Israeli tourists. I also hope to continue this tradition of connection between our countries, after over 50 years of TAROM flights to Tel Aviv".
