The Canadian airline has announced its flight schedule for the upcoming winter, which will include its largest expansion yet to Latin America - with a 16% increase in seat capacity compared to last winter.

The airline will launch new services to cities like Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara, alongside 13 other new routes, including Santiago, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Nassau, Montego Bay, and Huatulco. Additionally, flights to popular winter vacation destinations will be increased.

Overall, Air Canada will operate more than 55 daily flights and over 80,000 seats weekly.

"Air Canada implements its 'New Frontiers' strategy with the expansion in South America this winter," said Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer and President of Air Canada's Cargo Division.
"We are excited to add Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara to our global network and boost the frequency to Santiago with new flights from Montreal. Our schedule to Latin America is designed to serve both connecting and international passengers (Sixth Freedom) and to seize growing cargo opportunities," he added.

"We are also very pleased to add new winter routes from Halifax, Quebec City, Ottawa, and Vancouver to the Bahamas, Jamaica, Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Mexico, and to increase capacity to other popular sun vacation destinations."

"The breadth and depth of Air Canada's route network offer an enormous selection of options for customers wherever they are," concluded Galardo.
"Whether it's travelers connecting from Europe to Santiago, Guatemala, or Guadalajara, Canadians seeking a sun vacation, or explorers in search of an adventure across any of the six continents we fly to – customers can start planning and booking their winter trips now. We look forward to welcoming you on our flights."
