Air Canada Reschedules Its Return to Israel – Postponing June Plans
The Canadian airline, which was set to resume its flights to Israel this upcoming June, announces further delays and expects to resume flights only in September 2025. This decision comes amid security conditions and a missile launched from Yemen that recently landed in Ben Gurion Airport's vicinity.
Ruth Ben Zur, CEO of Air Canada Israel: "After a thorough security assessment, unfortunately, we cannot resume flights to Israel at this time. We emphasize Air Canada's deep commitment to Israel – a route operational for over 30 years – and to our customers. We will persistently work to return as soon as possible and provide the professional service our customers are accustomed to. Those are our most important values."
It should be noted that currently there are no direct flights to Canada, after El Al ceased its flights to Canada at the end of October 2022, citing economic non-viability and redirecting aircraft to more profitable destinations.
Additionally, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines have halted their flights to Israel, leaving only Arkia and El Al operating direct flights to North America for now.
