The Scandinavian airline SAS is returning to Israel after a 9-year hiatus.
Beginning in the winter of 2025/26, the Scandinavian company will operate three weekly direct flights from Copenhagen to Tel Aviv.
This move is significant as part of the expansion of the flight schedule for the upcoming winter, including six new destinations and a 40% increase in total seat availability.
The direct flights will commence on 26.10.25 and will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Tel Aviv joins other destinations like Vienna, Marrakech, Madeira, Fuerteventura, and Catania, but it represents the primary innovation for the Israeli market and a clear signal from SAS to strengthen ties with the Middle East.
The initiative is expected to enhance connectivity between Tel Aviv and Northern Europe, especially for business travelers, tourists, and those seeking convenient connections to key destinations on the continent. Copenhagen serves as an important transport hub for SAS, with extensive connections to Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, Bergen, Billund, Tallinn, Gdansk, and more.
According to the company’s management, adding new routes, particularly to Tel Aviv, is intended to "provide travelers with diverse options, efficient connections, and improved accessibility to leading destinations."

SAS has operated in Israel in the past, and returning to the flight schedule during the winter season indicates a shift in approach—viewing the city as a strategic point of interest, not just a seasonal destination. The combination of a strong economy, a loyal tourist community, and broad business potential makes Tel Aviv a preferred destination also for the Scandinavian market.
The flights will commence as part of the company’s winter schedule, expected to offer quick and convenient connections to Europe, the United States, and the rest of SAS’s destination network.
