In His Memory: Issta Held a Special Table Tennis Tournament to Honor Dror Polk - Former Employee
The Issta company honored Polk, one of Israel's greatest table tennis players and a former employee who passed away at age 64, with a special table tennis tournament. The Mayor of Givatayim attended to pay his respects. Issta and the Givatayim Sports Promotion Foundation plan to make the tournament a regular tradition.
Issta held a table tennis tournament yesterday (Shabbat, November 30) to honor the memory of Dror Polk.
Polk, passed away prematurely at the age of only 64 last April and was considered one of the greatest table tennis players in Israel.
Polk, who worked at Issta and American Express GBT, was the head of the collections department of both companies for over 20 years and was regarded as a beloved and respected person in the company.
In Issta, led by Ahichi Gal, one of the company's owners, they decided to honor Polk in the most symbolic way - a special table tennis tournament in his memory.
Issta, together with the Givatayim Sports Promotion Foundation, held the special tournament yesterday (Shabbat) at the Telem Hall in Givatayim, and during the event, a special film in his memory was shown.
The Mayor of Givatayim, Ran Konik, who was formerly also the champion of Israel in table tennis and even played with Polk, delivered a speech in his memory, as did Ahichi Gal, CEO and owner of the Issta company, who used to play many exciting games with Polk for hours at the Issta offices.
Or, Polk's son, also delivered a special speech about his father, and other Issta employees who used to work with Polk's father attended the event.
Issta and the Givatayim Sports Promotion Foundation intend to make this tournament a regular tradition and hold it regularly in memory of Polk.
