Princess Cruises has announced its third special cruise for witnessing a total solar eclipse in August 2026.

The new 14-day voyage will set sail on August 4, 2026, from the port of Civitavecchia (Rome) aboard the Enchanted Princess, offering a rare astronomical experience combined with visits to ports in the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas.

This announcement adds to the previously announced eclipse journeys aboard the Sky Princess (departing August 8 from Southampton) and Sun Princess (offering 7, 14, and 21-day itineraries from Barcelona and Athens).

During the astronomical highlight – a total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026 – passengers will enjoy a sea-based viewing off the coast of eastern Spain, where the eclipse will last for approximately two minutes and 18 seconds of stunning daylight darkness. During the eclipse, guests will gather on the top decks equipped with special viewing glasses provided by the company. The program includes astronomy expert lectures, space-themed snacks and drinks, trivia quizzes, nighttime stargazing, and even encourages guests to come dressed in celebratory attire and to bring personal telescopes.

According to the company statement, the cruise destinations include the following:

Rome (Civitavecchia) – Starting and ending point in the eternal city.
Naples (for Capri and Pompeii) – A blend of history, beaches, and scenery.
Kotor, Montenegro – A picturesque city surrounded by a stunning bay.
Dubrovnik, Croatia – Tour along the old city walls on the Adriatic coast.
Corfu, Greece – A mix of enchanting beaches and authentic Greek atmosphere.
Messina and Palermo, Sicily – Volcanoes, baroque architecture, and bustling markets.
Gibraltar – View from the iconic rock over the Strait of Gibraltar.
Alicante, Spain – A Spanish gem with vibrant promenades and marine views.
Barcelona, Spain – The cultural and design capital of Catalonia.

According to Terry Thornton, Senior Vice President of Commercial at Princess Cruises: "Adding the Enchanted Princess to our 2026 eclipse series allows more guests to partake in an unforgettable celestial event while visiting magnificent destinations in the Mediterranean and Adriatic. Due to high demand for our Sky and Sun Princess sailings, we are thrilled to offer another experience on one of our leading ships."
