Explora Journeys, the luxury cruise brand of the MSC Group, has revealed the upcoming summer series for its 2027 cruise season.
Spanning from March to November 2027, the season introduces three exciting innovations under the banner "An Ocean of New":
Unique cruises to new ports in the Mediterranean.
The launch of the new ship, EXPLORA IV.
A significant first entry into Alaskan territory with the ship EXPLORA III.
"Our 2027 summer journeys are meticulously planned, as always, to allow flexibility, extended stays, and a deep dive into destinations at a more leisurely pace", says Ana Nash, President of Explora Journeys. "We are thrilled to introduce Alaska for the first time and to host many of our 2027 journeys aboard our two elegant new ships, EXPLORA III and IV".
The newest ship in the fleet, the EXPLORA IV, will be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and will mark the next generation of luxurious ocean voyages. The ship will feature designed spaces, enhanced comfort, and a more spacious atmosphere – a reimagined cruise experience. Among the upgrades are expansive public balconies, enlarged outdoor decks, and a greater number of spacious luxury suites with privacy – among the highest space-to-guest ratios in the luxury cruise industry.
Furthermore, while EXPLORA III and IV will sail to new destinations in the summer of 2027, EXPLORA I and II will return to the brand's "home sea": the Mediterranean – with over 60 different journeys.
Alaska – An Epic First-Time Destination
With blue glaciers, green forests, and abundant wildlife, Alaska is entering Explora Journeys' collection of destinations for the first time – a significant moment in the brand's expansion. In summer 2027, guests can experience the wild nature, local culture, and Alaskan cuisine aboard the ship EXPLORA III.
The journeys depart from Vancouver, Canada, offering an opportunity to see Alaska from a new perspective – mighty rivers, diverse wildlife, remote villages, and ancient cities, with a variety of experiences such as dog sledding, kayaking, skiing, and nature adventures. Guests will sail along the whale route, seeing humpback whales, dolphins, and seals. They will visit glaciers, fjords, and islands.
Additionally, the company announced that among the voyages during the 2027 summer season on board the ship EXPLORA III are itineraries such as: Vancouver to Vancouver (May 10–21, 2027) – an 11-night cruise through fjords, wooded islands, and first visits to Sitka, Prince Rupert, and Endicott Arm; Vancouver to Vancouver (July 2–16, 2027) – a 14-night cruise through Hubbard's glaciers, the historic city of Kodiak, and the First Nations heritage of Alert Bay.
