Wizz Air received its first A321XLR aircraft on May 20, out of a total order of 47 planes.

The airline becomes the first in the world to operate the A321XLR powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, and it is the first low-cost airline in Europe to operate this model.

Wizz Air's A321XLR aircraft feature 239 seats in a single-class configuration, including the newly designed Airspace cabin, an innovative lighting system, and various advancements for creating an optimal environment during different flight phases, including boarding, dining, resting, sleeping, and waking up. With the addition of the A321XLR to its fleet, the airline enhances its ability to connect Europe to the Middle East.

Wizz Air operates only Airbus aircraft, with a fleet of more than 230 A320 family aircraft in operation and 295 more on order for delivery.

The A321XLR represents the next development in the A320neo family, addressing market needs for greater range and payload capacity while offering airlines significant flexibility.

This aircraft provides an extremely long range of up to 8,700 km, 30% lower fuel consumption per seat compared to previous generation aircraft, as well as reduced carbon emissions and noise.

To date, Airbus has secured more than 500 orders for this model. Like all Airbus aircraft, the A321XLR can operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and Airbus aims for its aircraft to be capable of flying with up to 100% SAF by 2030.
