Larnaca is the leading destination, showing the most significant rise for vacations in Europe. This comes from a new study published by the trend analysis and forecasting company in the tourism industry, Forwardkeys from Spain. According to the study, there has been a 17% increase in demand for vacations in the Cypriot resort city.
Overall, and not surprisingly, the top destinations for summer are more "sun and sea" spots and less urban vacations. The second place is taken by Catania in Italy's Sicily, with Heraklion in Crete in third place and Palma de Mallorca in fourth.
But Heraklion is not the only Greek representative in the study. In fifth place is the island of Rhodes. Further down the list, you can also find Palermo, and only in seventh place is there a "classic city" destination, which is Prague.
Rounding out the top ten destinations for summer 2025 are Ponta Delgada in the Azores, followed by Bergen and Reykjavik.

The airports of Cyprus, both Larnaca and Paphos, recorded significant growth in passenger traffic over the past year, and soon a major renewal program will be implemented.
Larnaca is considered an attractive combination of beautiful beaches, rich local culture, and, importantly, an affordable destination, significantly cheaper than Western Europe.
