Stabbing Incident at Hamburg Train Station: 18 Injured, Suspect to Face Custody Extension

According to a statement released today (Saturday) by the Hamburg Police, 18 people were injured in the stabbing incident that occurred yesterday at the central train station's strong> (Hauptbahnhof) in the St. Georg neighborhood.

The suspect, a 39-year-old woman, remains in custody and is expected to be brought before a local judge tomorrow for a custody extension hearing.

The investigation continues, and the case has been handed over to the Criminal Police's homicide department (LKA 41), which is currently gathering testimonies, reconstructing the sequence of events, and examining the possible motive for the attack.
