Lufthansa Group Resumes Israeli Operations The Lufthansa Group, which includes airlines such as Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, plans to gradually resume flights to Tel Aviv starting June 23, 2025. According to the company, flights will not all restart on that date but will be phased in for operational reasons.
ITA, the Italian airline and the newest member of Europe's largest aviation group, will not resume flights with these airlines and will continue its suspension of flights to Rome until July 31.
The Lufthansa Group stated that the decision to resume flights to Israel was made after a comprehensive evaluation and in coordination with relevant authorities.
The announcement of flight resumption comes a month after the halt due to a Houthi missile landing at Ben Gurion Airport, significantly impacting flight operations to and from Israel.
Meanwhile, another major airline arrived this morning at Ben Gurion Airport after suspending flights under these circumstances, with United Airlines now operating two daily flights on the Tel Aviv-New York (Newark) route.
