Following a six-year hiatus, Canadian airline Air Canada resumed its regular route between Toronto and Prague yesterday, Wednesday, June 5, 2025. These are direct flights occurring three times a week, running through the end of the summer season on September 30.

The flights are operated in the summer using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, offering 297 seats, with a transition to Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring 298 seats, starting in September.

The renewed route provides a direct connection between Canada and Central Europe, facilitating easy access for travelers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland to North America and vice versa.

The Prague airport greeted the reopening of this route, noting that it aligns with a positive trend of reinstating long-haul flights to destinations in North America, Asia, and the Middle East.

As remembered, Air Canada had suspended its flights to Israel until September 2025, as first reported by PassportNews.

The Toronto–Prague route had previously been successfully operated until the summer of 2019 but was paused due to the COVID-19 crisis and has not been reinstated until now. Its return signifies Air Canada's continued expansion in the European market, alongside other seasonal routes this summer to destinations like Rome, Athens, Budapest, and Dublin.

The company noted that the demand for the route is encouraging, with operations expected to continue in future seasons, aligned with tourism and consumer trends.
