Trenitalia, the Italian rail operator, officially launched the new high-speed train service between Paris and Marseille, cutting travel time between the northern and southern cities of France to just under three hours and twenty minutes.
The new train route not only reduces travel time but also broadens access to some of France's most iconic destinations, making it appealing to both local and international travelers.
This new line creates competition for France's already extensive rail network, dominated by SNCF, the French national railway provider. With 4 round-trip lines available daily, passengers can now enjoy increased frequency, flexible scheduling, and competitive pricing starting at just 23 euros, making it an attractive option for both locals and international visitors.
The Trenitalia route offers not only quick and comfortable travel but also presents a tempting alternative to driving, which often takes more than 7 hours between Paris and Marseille.
The high-speed trains depart from Paris Gare de Lyon and arrive at Marseille Saint-Charles, stopping at major transport hubs like Lyon Saint-Exupéry, Avignon TGV, and Aix-en-Provence TGV.
The new schedule has been carefully designed to accommodate early risers, business travelers, and vacationers alike. Trains from Paris start at 5:55 AM, with the last departure at 7:04 PM. From Marseille, the first train leaves at 6:52 AM, and the day's last train departs at 6:49 PM.
