"President Trump achieved what no other president in history could even imagine – the elimination of the Iranian regime's nuclear program, and bringing Israel and Iran to an unprecedented ceasefire agreement," said Lewitt.
Her remarks follow shortly after Trump himself published a statement on his social network Truth Social, announcing that a full agreement had been reached between Israel and Iran for a gradual ceasefire to take effect within hours, ending what he called "the 12-day war."
According to the statement released by the President, Iran will cease fire within 6 hours, Israel will join 12 hours later, and within 24 hours the conflict will be considered "officially ended."
"I congratulate both countries on their courage, resilience, and intelligence in ending what should be called the '12-day war,'" Trump wrote.
"God bless Israel, Iran, the Middle East, America, and the entire world!"
Despite the confirmation from the White House spokesperson, no official responses have been received from Israel or the Iranian government regarding the agreement's details. It may be a diplomatic initiative formulated through secret channels, or a unilateral move becoming a fact on the ground under American pressure.
Either way, the official response of the White House spokesperson presents the move as a historic achievement of the Trump administration, explicitly noting the end of the Iranian nuclear program – a topic considered unsolvable for decades.
It should be noted that the Home Front Command has not changed the emergency guidelines, and the public should continue to adhere to the most recent stringent updates.
