The Municipality of Eilat has recently initiated extensive renovation work at the marina plaza, located in the heart of the city's northern promenade.

As part of the project, the area between the sailing club and marina bridge will be transformed into an open, accessible public space featuring numerous seating areas, shaded spots, play zones, an activity plaza, water misters, and a new scenic viewpoint.

Due to the renovation, the parking lot between the sailing club and the promenade has been temporarily closed. The duration of the works is estimated to be about 20 months.

The project also includes extensive upgrades: the city deck and the educational dock of the sailing club will be updated, the secondary promenade will be expanded, parking will be regulated in the area, and the operational structure of existing businesses will be upgraded. Additionally, the western pier will be upgraded, and a new observation area will be established at its southern end.

The works are being carried out at the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Eilat, with execution by the Dead Sea Protection Company and oversight by the city's engineering department.

This is part of a broader upgrade of the city's northern and southern beaches, which includes opening access to the waterfront by removing boulders, paving walking paths, installing shade trees, public umbrellas, drinking fountains, restrooms, showers, and recycling bins.

Simultaneously, lifeguard stations at designated beaches are being upgraded, and a new lifeguard station is being built on the southern beach as part of the creation of the first designated beach area in the Coral Beach area.
