False fire alarm: Ryanair passengers were evacuated from an aircraft in Palma using emergency slides.

A Ryanair flight from Palma de Mallorca to Manchester (July 4) had to abort takeoff after a fire alarm was triggered on the control panel. The alarm was later found to be false, but a decision was made to evacuate the passengers using the emergency slides, a standard procedure in such situations.

All passengers were evacuated from the plane and returned to the terminal. Several passengers sustained minor injuries during the evacuation. The flight crew immediately called for medical services.

To minimize disruptions, the airline quickly dispatched a replacement aircraft.

From the airline: "We apologize to passengers for the inconvenience caused. The safety of our passengers and crew is always our top priority."

Social media images show passengers standing on the aircraft wing.
