LOT Polish Airlines: Ready to Reconnect Ukraine to the World.

Even before Russia's latest attack on Ukraine last night (between Friday and Saturday), during the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference URC2025 held in Rome this year, Polish airline LOT reaffirmed its strategic commitment to Ukraine and declared its full readiness to renew regular flights – and to be the first airline from the European Union to do so, immediately upon achieving permanent peace and ensuring operational safety conditions.

Before the outbreak of the war, LOT operated about 90 weekly flights to six destinations in Ukraine, serving as a central gateway for international traffic, with about 70% of passengers using Warsaw as a transit hub.

Ukraine accounted for a quarter of the airline's international passenger traffic.

Currently, LOT indicates that the company is ready to resume operations within six weeks of receiving approval, with priority for the first routes to Kyiv and Lviv, and subsequently to additional destinations, depending on the availability of infrastructure in the country.

In addition to Warsaw, LOT is developing a new regional strategy, which includes direct connections between Ukraine and other major cities in Poland. With a planned fleet of up to four Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, the company estimates it will be able to serve up to 800,000 passengers a year, including the large Ukrainian immigrant community in Poland, which currently numbers about 1.5 million people.

Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, emphasized: "We are determined to be the leading airline of the new Ukraine and to connect its citizens, economy, and future to the rest of the world."
