Another Gulf airline introduces flights to the U.S.
After nearly 30 years without flights to North America, the national airline of Bahrain, Gulf Air, has announced a new direct flight route to New York (JFK).
The announcement was made during the official visit of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in Washington, D.C.
The new route, starting October 1, 2025, will offer three weekly flights between Bahrain International Airport and JFK, operating with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Initially, Gulf Air will operate its flights from Terminal 1 at JFK Airport, with a planned transition to the new and advanced New Terminal One in June 2026.
