A temperature of no less than 40 degrees is expected in Athens next Thursday, July 24. According to local return service forecasts meteo.gr, this day may be the peak of the heat in the Greek capital so far, with the temperature possibly rising even more during peak hours.
In other parts of Greece, temperatures are also particularly high and will rise further during the coming week. In Thessaloniki, a peak of 36-37 degrees is expected in the middle of the week, in Rhodes temperatures will reach 33 degrees all week, and in Crete between 33 to 34 degrees.

Rome will be one of the major sufferers next week. From today (Friday 18.7) throughout the following week, temperatures in the Italian capital will not drop below 33 degrees during peak hours. On Monday and Tuesday, 34 degrees are expected in Rome, and on Wednesday 36 degrees.
Even in Moldova, which does not usually suffer from particularly high temperatures, the heatwave will hit next week, and on Tuesday 34 degrees are expected to be measured in Chișinău, a summer record. Tuesday will also be particularly hot in Malta, where 37 degrees are expected.
And in Cyprus, the heatwave also intensifies during the coming week with temperatures reaching 33-34 degrees throughout the week in Larnaca. In Limassol, up to 36 degrees will be measured, and in Ayia Napa 34 degrees.
